About the event
In 2024, it was declared the world's largest marathon, with more than 55,000 finishers! It's one of the six Abbott World Marathon Majors, considered the highest-profile races in their category. Organized by the New York Road Runners, the iconic race covers all five boroughs of New York City.
The race begins on Staten Island and crosses the Verrazano Bridge to reach Brooklyn, where runners will travel through various neighborhoods until they cross the Pulaski Bridge and reach Queens. The Queensboro Bridge will take them through the streets of Manhattan and the Bronx, then finish in the iconic Central Park.
