The Bank of America Chicago Marathon has been held annually since 1977 in the city of Chicago, Illinois, United States. Along with Boston, New York, Berlin, London and Tokyo it’s part of the largest marathons in the world: the Abbott World Marathon Majors (WMM).

The Bank of America Chicago Marathon was founded in 1977 and has since expanded to more than 50,000 finishers and an estimated 1.7 million spectators at the race. The flat, fast course begins and ends in historic Grant Park, passing through 29 diverse and colorful neighborhoods, including Lakeview, Greektown, Little Italy, Pilsen, Chinatown and Bronzeville".
