About the event
In 2019 it was considered the largest marathon in the world. It is one of the races of the 6 World Marathon Majors, considered among the highest profile in its category. Organized by the New York Road Runners, the iconic race runs through the five boroughs of New York City.
The course begins in Staten Island and crosses the Verrazzano Bridge to reach Brooklyn, where runners pass around different neighborhoods until they cross the Pulaski Bridge, and reach Queens. The Queensboro Bridge takes the participants through the streets of Manhattan, then the Bronx to later reach the finish line in the beautiful Central Park.
